Projects

AngliCORD's partners at a glance

Our partners are local organisations responding to the issues and challenges in their own communities.

HIV/AIDS

In South Africa, Kenya, and Lesotho, our partners are fighting AIDS through community programs and church-based agencies

These life-saving programs are promoting behaviour and attitude change, providing counselling and testing, and improving the quality of life, care and support for people who are HIV positive.

Conflict recovery & reconciliation

In the Solomon Islands an exciting program to strengthen self-reliance and peace is underway - improving the participation of women and young people in decision making and conflict resolution processes. This is a partnership with ABM and the Church of Melanesia.

In South Africa, the Institute for the Healing of Memories, is providing opportunities for individuals and communities to share their stories of pain, abuse, and violence and to promote healing and reconciliation.

Health & literacy

Pastoralist communities in Afar, Ethiopia, are developing their own health care and literacy programs. Drought relief efforts are also underway.

Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza and St Luke’s Hospital in Nablus provide quality medical care free of charge. Ahli also runs mobile outreach clinics to villages isolated by security restrictions.

In Tanzania, the Jitume Foundation is improving food security, providing training in environmental conservation, reafforestation & land ownership, and building capacity in the Diocese of Mpwapwa, Tanzania.

Water

Wells dug by the Relief Society of Tigray (REST) in Ethiopia are dramatically improving the quality of life for whole communities in remote areas.

These wells have a positive effect not only on health, but also on children’s access to education and on economic productivity - all factors that contribute to sustainable social and economic development.

REST have already established more than 1,200 hand dug wells in remote Tigray communities over the past 20 years.

AngliCORD has full accreditation with AusAID, the Australian Government Agency for overseas development, and receives AusAID funding for a number of programs.
