Pakistan Floods 2011 - Devastation again

Food, potable water, shelter, and health care are urgently needed to save lives that are greatly at risk from waterborne diseases, malnutrition, and food insecurity. Many areas inundated by the heavy monsoonal rains remain inaccessible.
Anglicord is joining with ACT Alliance, a global alliance of over 100 church and church related agencies, to raise money for this crisis. ACT Alliance partners are distributing food and non food items, bottled water, emergency shelter and mobile health units. ACT Alliance partner Christian Aid has remained in the Sindh province since the 2010 floods, and will continue to work to a recovery response, focusing on housing.

Sudan - Malaria in Sth Kordofan
On the border of North and South Sudan, military attacks and persecution continue since independence was announced. Many have had to flee their homes and live as best they can in the forests.
This is malaria season. Many are suffering and need extra medicines.
Anglicord is running an appeal to provide funding to meet these needs.

Sudan Emergency Appeal
For 20 years, southern Sudan has been laid waste by civil war. The referendum held in January this year was meant to bring peace and hope, but increasingly violent border disputes mean that thousands are fleeing the region in fear of all out war.
Anglicord has launched an emergency appeal for funds to provide not just basic resources such as water purification supplies and shelter, but communication and transport equipment to promote safety and security. The funds raised will also support the training and equipping the people working on the ground in Sudan to deal with immediate emergency needs.
