- inspire Australians to be compassionate, involved and responsible global citizens.
Guiding Principles
As a signatory to the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) Code of Conduct, and guided by the Universal Declaration on Human Rights, and inspired by faith in Christ, AngliCORD works to build partnerships with organisations in developing countries through which to support community development and emergency response programs that:
- Value all people, and so live out the Christian imperative to stand with the poor and oppressed
- Promote and protect the rights of all people
- Affirm the diversity of the human family by ensuring gender, racial and ethnic equality and equity
- Promote self-reliance and effective, authentic participation
- Respect the spiritual and cultural values and knowledge of the partner community
- Advocate for and promote just policies and practices
- Care for the earth, promoting sustainability
- Be ethical, transparent, and accountable at all times
- Commit to working in partnership with communities and organizations
- Affirm the understanding promoted within the Anglican Communion that development is a discrete dimension of the mission of the church.
