Our donors
Anglicord relies on the generosity and commitment of its donors to continue its vital work of strengthening partnerships in developing countries to overcome poverty, injustice and disaster.
Whatever the size of the donation, large or small, every gift is special and every gift makes a difference to people in the developing world.
As well as responding with commitment to regular appeals, Anglicord’s supporters also demonstrate immense compassion in their support of emergency relief efforts.
Retired teacher and researcher Malcolm Rosier has been giving to Anglicord for sixteen years. The committed Anglican form Mornington in Victoria supports Anglicord’s work because of its “dedicated staff”, its ability to maintain strong church-to-church relationships and its low administrative costs.
“I know that people in the Christian community in Australia wish to help people in other countries who have fewer resources,” says Malcolm. “But it is very difficult to know how to help people in ways that are effective and are sensitive to their cultures and feelings. I regard the Anglicord model as one of the most effective."

Our fundraisers
Anglicord’s supporters show great skill and resourcefulness in their fundraising efforts.
Eleven-year-old Beth Mowat ran a craft stall at her church – Upwey Anglican in Victoria –to help the people of the Gaza Strip. Beth sold hair slides which she had made, hand-painted rocks from her grandmother, lollies and soft drinks and raised $50.60, which she donated to Anglicord’s partner, the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City. Rhonda Adams, the Honorary Treasurer at Upwey Anglican, said: “Beth is very caring and she is always willing to help.”
Many fundraising activities take place right across Australia. A number of parishes choose to Anglicord the focus of their mission month raising thousands of dollars for our vital work in the developing world. Consider asking your parish to do the same!

Our volunteers and pro bono workers
Volunteers play a vital role in Anglicord’s work in Australia from assisting with one-off activities through to serving as Board members. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and offer all kinds of help.
Many volunteers promote and raise funds for Anglicord in Anglican Churches, schools and organisations across the country. Some parishes have specific mission groups to undertake this promotional and advocacy role.
People with professional skills offer pro bono contributions, providing highly skilled and committed support for specific professional activities working on program support, communications and administrative areas of Anglicord’s work.
Others volunteers help in specific projects. In 2009, for example, a team of dedicated volunteers assisted on a two-month telephone campaign aimed at thanking Anglicord donors for their support.
Anglicord encourages volunteering through its website and through its mail outs. Supporters are invited to express interest in volunteering with the agency and all expressions of interest are responded to.
